Everyone, without exception, has police IDs, but few know that they also have an expiration date.

Until recently, IDs that had completed 15 years of "life" wanted a change, while a newer decision brings the expiration date 5 years earlier, i.e. 10 years.

According to a recent gazette, the period of validity of identity cards, from the date of their issuance, is set at ten (10) years, for persons who have completed their twelfth year of age, while in a case where it is temporarily impossible to take fingerprints fingerprints from any of the applicant's fingers, the period of validity of the card is set at twelve (12) months.

"In addition to the fee for the cases of issuing an identity card due to loss or damage to the applicant's previous card, an electronic fee is paid in favor of the State, amounting to €9.00".

Which services need to be updated?

A number of services must be updated while some others are updated electronically.

As we mentioned above, the tax office can now be automatically informed by the services of HEL.AS in TAXISNET. It is also possible for natural persons who are certified users of Taxisnet's electronic services to change their residential address.

At PPC, the specific process is done electronically. According to dei.gr, to complete your request you will need to send us supporting documents for the identification of your details.

According to the latest data, most systemic banks no longer require you to be there for life, but now everything is done electronically based on the respective bank's platform.
